Your fellow Hoosiers and Indianapolis natives competed in the 2015 IBJJF World Championships in Las Vegas. We had competitors from all our affiliates in Indianapolis and surrounding areas; Endurance BJJ in Zionsville, IBJJA in Greenwood, Fisher’s BJJ, Vortex BJJ in Bloomington, as well as Impact Zone in West Lafayette.
The Women’s BJJ coach and yoga instructor for Endurance BJJ in Zionsville, Monica Nakatsuka started the 2015 competition year off right. Having stepped away from competition for two years, Monica earned a Silver Medal at IBJJF Chicago Spring International Championships, then followed that with a stellar performance at the IBJJF Master World Championships in Las Vegas. Coach Monica competed in the “Blue / Master 1 / Female / Light” division, which is one weight class heavier then her actual weight. Coach weighed in at 118 lbs, which is actually the “Feather” weight division, and still earned a Bronze medal for her hard work and dedication, regardless of being outweighed by all her opponents.

Congratulations Coach! We are very proud of all our brothers and sisters who medaled, competed, and supported us at BJJ World Championships in Las Vegas. Thank you for your hard work, dedication to the team, and representing your Indianapolis BJJ family in good fashion. We are looking forward to the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s 2016 competition calendar as well as another World Masters Championships, Oss!
